Service Project:

Harvest Hope Food Bank is an organization under the umbrella FEEDING AMERICA.  Its mission is, “Providing for the needs of hungry people by gathering and sharing quality food with dignity, compassion, and education.”  To learn more about the food bank history and about hunger in South Carolina, you may go to www.harvesthope.org

South Carolina School Counselor Association has chosen this organization as its project for the 2010-2011 year because of its mission and because it continues to make practical, life-affecting differences for individuals and families that have fallen on hard times.  As result of the recession, Harvest Hope has seen a steady increase in the number of people needing food and other necessities over the past two years.

Donations can be made at the SCSCA Conference, or checks can be mailed. Make all checks payable to SCSCA, and mail to the SCSCA Treasurer, Miranda Manning, Ed.D., P. O. Box 1241, Dillon, S.C. 29536.  Please include the notation 2010-2011 SCSCA Service Project:  Harvest Hope in the memo section on the check.
